Welcome to ShredLabel - Gnarly hard rock for Your headbanging needs!
Hey there, I'm Alex, the dude behind ShredLabel. It's my creative sanctuary, where I worship the very core of our existence: Heavy-ass Guitar Playing!
But jokes aside: In addition to crafting my own tunes, I thrive on collaboration and offer my services as a recording guitarist to bring others' music to life.
But how did I get here? Let me take you on a journey through my musical evolution and the experiences that shaped me into the guitarist and artist I am today.
From the moment I could tap my feet to a beat, music had its hooks in me. But it wasn't until my early teens that I truly dove headfirst into the punk rock rabbit hole. From classic Ramones anthems to modern punk bands, the genre became the soundtrack of my youth.
Leading me to pick up a guitar at around 15 and just trying to play all the punk songs I liked at the time. But everything changed a year later when I stumbled upon a guitar magazine with Slash on the cover. As I delved into the world of Guns N' Roses and 80s hard rock, I took guitar seriously and played as much as I could.
During a summer break, I dedicated myself to mastering every song on Guns N' Roses' "Appetite for Destruction," and wondering why it sounds so wrong until I found out what Eb means - haha.
I found myself jamming with friends in local bands, covering punk rock classics and eventually crafting our own tunes. One of these bands, Smoke n' Mirror, transitioned into the realm of 80s rock, riding the wave of sleaze rock's resurgence with bands like Hardcore Superstar and Steel Panther.
Meanwhile, my musical journey expanded into heavier territory with bands like Megadeth and especially Pantera. This led to my involvement with Sinate, a death/thrash outfit based in Berlin. Together, we toured across Germany, Sweden, the UK, and Ireland, playing unforgettable gigs and festivals like Mörkaste Småland and Siege of Limerick.
In addition to my time with Sinate, I also served as a touring guitarist for Kamikaze Kings, playing shows and festivals across Germany. These experiences were unforgettable, filled with great times and amazing people.
But it wasn't just about performing – my time with Sinate and Kamikaze Kings ignited a passion for crafting songs. Eager to explore these new avenues, I founded ShredLabel in 2020, carving out a space where I could not only express myself as an artist but also dive deep into songwriting, recording, and producing.
Releasing my debut record in 2021 was a significant milestone and a profound learning experience. It made me keenly aware of the struggles many artists face in finding musicians
who truly understand their vision and can contribute to making it a reality. As someone who doesn't sing, I felt incredibly fortunate to have found Jamie Laylei, a kick-ass singer
who continues to bring my music to life.
This realization inspired me to offer my services recording guitars, and I find immense joy in helping others experience the fulfillment of releasing their music. There's nothing
quite like seeing everything come together to create something special.
Through this journey, I've discovered my identity not only as an artist but also as a collaborator and guitarist for other musicians. It's a role that brings me immense
satisfaction, knowing that I can play a part in bringing someone else's musical vision to fruition.
